I am trying to do a a test query using findscu from the OFFIS DICOM tools, but it fails with:
Error in DICOM message handling due to exception:Object reference not set to an instance of an object from the RIS emulator. What tool could I use to do sample query, or any example you could provide that could query the emulator would be great. Thanks! - D

Is the RIS Emulator comming with the exception message or the OFFIS DICOM tool?
It is not clear to me what you are trying to accomplish, but if you want to query the RIS emulator, you can use the Modality Emulator application.
