Hi,
I'm using the DCMViewer tool (latest version 3.1) for validating a DICOM file. That file has some standard violating issues that can are easily identified with another validator. However, when I try to open it with DCMViewer an exception is displayed instead (see below). As DCMViewer is supposed to be a validator as well I am surpised that it cannot handle this file. Am I using the tool somehow incorrectly here? Thanks a lot in advance! This is the exception being thrown: Error type: System.Xml.XmlException Error description: Unexpected end of file while parsing Name has occurred. Line 705, position 98. Stack Trace: at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Exception e) at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(String res, String arg) at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Int32 pos, String res, String arg) at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseQName(Boolean isQName, Int32 startOffset, Int32& colonPos) at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseAttributes() at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseElement() at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseElementContent() at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Read() at System.Xml.XPath.XPathDocument.LoadFromReader(XmlReader reader, XmlSpace space) at System.Xml.XPath.XPathDocument..ctor(String uri, XmlSpace space) at System.Xml.XPath.XPathDocument..ctor(String uri) at DvtkApplicationLayer.UserInterfaces.DvtkWebBrowser.ConvertXmlToHtml(String xmlFullFileName, String htmlFullFileName) at DCMViewer.DCMViewer.ShowResults() at DCMViewer.DCMViewer.menuItem_FileOpen_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem.MenuItemData.Execute() at System.Windows.Forms.Command.Invoke() at System.Windows.Forms.Command.DispatchID(Int32 id) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmCommand(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) Assembly information: mscorlib (2.0.0.0) DCMViewer (3.1.0.0) System.Windows.Forms (2.0.0.0) System (2.0.0.0) System.Drawing (2.0.0.0) DvtkApplicationLayer (2.3.0.5) DVTK (2.3.0.5) DVTKManagedCodeAdapter (2.3.0.5) msvcm80 (8.0.50727.1433) AxInterop.SHDocVw (1.1.0.0) Interop.SHDocVw (1.1.0.0) Accessibility (2.0.0.0) DvtkHighLevelInterface (2.3.0.5) DvtkData (2.3.0.5) System.Xml (2.0.0.0) System.Data.SqlXml (2.0.0.0) The OS version of the host computer is: Microsoft Windows NT 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2 (Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP 64 bit)

Did you try using the Media session present in DVT? Did it also throw an exception?
