Ok,
I downloaded the new Version. I was wondering that the Version number and creation date didn't change compaired with the older Version. It would help to change the number. I found the training package download and find the presentaion very usefull to get some things clearer. So everyone that has problem should try to do the exercises. Pierre

I'll think I write a User Guide for dummies when I got into it.
![]() My first question I could answer myself. So I try with rest first. But when I cannot find the answer myself I will ask here. P. Baum

Hi,
If you have any question about the usage of DVTk please let us know via this forum, we will respond to it and explain this in more detail. This is also valuable input for a future update of the user guide. We currently have no other documentation available, but feel free to contribute . With Kind Regards Gerard

I just started reading the User Guide for DVT.
In some situations I have difficulties in understanding what is ment. I think I'm not the only one (this is what I hope!). I also downloaded the training section but this doesn't help me either. Is there any other documention what I can read to make it clearer for me. Thanks in advance! P. Baum

Hi there,
if you want to use the dvtk and dvtkdata (low level interface) directly in your C# program, I can give you some hints how to do it. If you are patient enough to wait two weeks, I will post my first version of the HLI (High Level Interface) that will make it easier to develop your own test scripts/programs. The "real" programmer of course doesn't want to use the HLI because it is too easy. Anyway, here are the hints for using the low level interface. See DVT_userguide.pdf, see section 12.4 Visual Studio .NET. In this section, some important issues are stated for creating a new project that is using the DVTK. The help files DvtkDocumentation.chm and DvtkDataDocumentation.chm describe the .NET interface of Dvtk.dll and DvtkData.dll. I also attached some C# examples I received. Note that in the examples all session properties are specified in the C# program. It is also possible to use the LoadFromFile method to load these session properties directly from a session file. I hope this answers (some of) your questions. Good luck with it! Regards, Marco Kemper [ATTACHMENT 'CS examples.zip' REMOVED, 16-09-2005]

Hello everyone,
I wrote a simple test application that writes plain scripts to be used with on ADVT 2.61 command-line. Now, paying attention to DVTk, it seems to be that it could be possible to write a test application with C# on .NET Framework referencing the DVTk DLL's. Unfortunately, I cannot find any sample. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance, ÃÂÂvan

A small build instruction guide is available under sourceforge which explains all required tools/steps which need to be done before you can build a succesfull build of DVT. The document can be found here.
Anyone having problems doing the build should also update their cvs repository. Everything should then be OK. I have build on my PC at home and at work without any problems (and the project name includes the space - "dvt core").
