Suppose I have 3 machines:

-TAC machine (CAT in inglish I think) (tomography machine) (philips)

-The computer (1) that is connected to the TAC machine where the physician sees the images

-A Computer (2) that is connected to a printer (call it print server)

(Note: The computer 1 can "speak" dicom and send the aquired dicom image to a dicom printer, for example.)

Suppose I want to develop a software to run on computer 2 (printer server) in order to receive dicom images from computer 1 and to send them to
the local (non-dicom) printer.

Which kind of messages does computer 1 uses to send Dicom img to the dicom printer? C-STORE? C-MOVE? N_ACTION?

I just completed a one week DICOM Troubleshooting course [CS4027C] at the Philips Training Academy in Cleveland, OH.

The instructor was James Hrusovsky. He did a wonderful job demonstrating DVTK as a troubleshooting tool for field service engineers. There were also numerous capture and analysis labs. The class provided the tools and knowledge to troubleshoot DICOM issues in the field.

DVTK is the tool of choice. It works well and is easy to use. Your work has helped many people.

LS,

we would like to know what the need is for a hosted DVTk validation web service, which could e.g.

Be used by a lightweight web based client to validate DICOM messages and files without the need to install DVTk based applications on a local system.
Be used by your own applications without the need to update to newer version of the definition files and validation engine anymore.

If you can supply some user feedback by adding your responses to this topic, that would be great.

Hi Raj,

currently someone outside the DVTk team is working on a Query Retrieve SCU prototype with the help of one of the DVTk developers. Depending on the time this person can spend on the prototype and priorities of the DVTk team, we will publish a prototype or Alpha version on our website at some time in the future...
