I'm not aware of a any adjustment needed to compile under Windows 7...
Maybe another user can give some advice.

What is the reason you are trying to recompile the library?

The DVTk Project is hosted at Sourceforge.net. There you can download both the binaries and the source code. We are using a CVS repository there. You can find information on how to access it at this webpage: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=141353

Hi Ryan,

the current set of DICOM Definition files that comes with DVT is out of date. They are based on the 2006 DICOM publication.
Beside that there are indeed some small "errors" in these files. We are having a problem with the application that we use to generate the Definition files, since we would of course like to keep these files up to date and correct.
I will look into the file you provided and will check with the team if this is a correct solution to the issue. More feedback will be given to the ticket you entered into the system.
Thanks already for the effort you put in the change proposal.

Hi thaimai,

you can get the source code from sourceforge.net.
When you search for the project DVT (without the K), you will find the DVTk project.

On this site you can also read how to get the source code using a CVS client.

The cvs module in which the actual encoding/decoding takes place is "dvt core". In the MAIN branche, the code is present that is used for the latest stable version (2.1.006.014).

all developers from the current code contributers are using Visual Studio .NET 2003. So I'm afraid I cannot help you with this.

Any solutions you may find are very welcome for others that use Visual Studio 2005 (and for me also when we will imigrate to 2005 ).

A small build instruction guide is available under sourceforge which explains all required tools/steps which need to be done before you can build a succesfull build of DVT. The document can be found here.

Anyone having problems doing the build should also update their cvs repository. Everything should then be OK. I have build on my PC at home and at work without any problems (and the project name includes the space -
"dvt core").
